The transition period in which the UK must follow EU legislation will expire at the end of December 2020, and the future relations within the areas of, for example, transportation and road traffic rely on the deal the EU has made with the UK.
The deal between the UK and the EU was made on the 24th of December 2020 and regulates the future relations between them. The deal regulates, amongst others, transport of goods by road including the requirements for the drivers, transport of passenger, product requirements and more. The deal is temporary until the 28th of February where it will be made permanent if it’s adopted by the European Parliament and ratified by the Member States.
